COACH ARANDA

I started playing volleyball in 2018 and still actively play. I’ve been part of several different leagues and have won over 10 championships. This is my second year coaching volleyball at NCA.

From the moment I started coaching the running backs at a high school football camp during my college years, I’ve had a desire to coach. I believe that my strength and purpose in life is to help others in all aspects of life. Being able to provide an avenue in life that promotes positivity and decreasing the likelihood of engaging in negative behaviors, while teaching valuable life skills gives me a sense of purpose. Seeing drive, growth, and success in others brings me great joy.

I have a deep passion for traveling and learning about the different cultures of the world. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and have been to 49 states in the US (missing Alaska). A fun fact about me is that I have a titanium rod in my shin from a football injury.

I started playing volleyball when I was 9 years old and played all the way through high school. I then coached 3rd-4th graders for two seasons. After a few years off,  I started coaching high school volleyball. I coached for three seasons as a head coach where my team went to the State tournament twice. Now I am starting here at Northshore and am excited to coach middle school!

I wanted to become a coach because I grew up loving the sport and enjoyed being on a team that supports and uplifts each other. I was fortunate enough to attend a Christian school, and I feel that being on that team taught valuable life lessons and gave me the opportunity to hear and learn from teammates about their faith. As I became a leader on the team, I also experienced what it was like to encourage my teammates to look to Christ and be His light to others. I want my players to have that same experience where they not only try the sport and hopefully love playing, but they also build strong connections with their teammates and deepen their faith.

Some hobbies that I have are gardening and cooking! I know it might not be exciting to some, but I love trying new recipes, especially if the ingredients come from my own garden. A fun fact about me is that I love riding my 4-wheeler. My family has gone on the same camping trip to the Oregon Coast to ride on the Dunes since I was about 6 months old.
