Objectives and Goals
Welcome to Northshore Christian Academy’s Early Learning Preschool program!
In Preschool, our students learn by using imaginative and cooperative play in class. They are building their fine motor skills by cutting, painting, coloring, and writing. They are developing their gross motor skills at recess, music class, and teacher/child-directed games. They are learning numbers, pre-math skills, basic shapes, colors, letters, words in Spanish, and beginning phonics. We are cultivating leaders by their daily opportunity to lead using their “Job Responsibilities” with the weather, line leader, special helper, calendar helper, and more. Our Preschool-aged children have center time for daily play, outside recess (two to three times a day), art projects for letter and Bible review, and hands-on science. Social skills and independence are stressed throughout their day. Most of all, the love of Jesus is spread and emphasized in everything we do.
SPIRITUAL LIFE
Northshore Christian Academy filters all learning and curriculum through a Biblical worldview. We endeavor to train children spiritually, academically, and personally. Northshore integrates faith and learning as we equip the whole child to develop leadership qualities in the context of their God-given abilities and talents. The entire process of education is used to bring children into fellowship with God, develop a Christ-like mind, and develop their God-given personal and vocational potential.
Bible
Children will be taught Biblical concepts and stories and memorize Bible verses that will teach them godly character qualities and Biblical facts. They will practice applying these qualities in their daily life including opportunities for serving others. Children look to the example of Staff Members with a relationship with God. This will allow children to develop their own relationship with the Lord through daily prayer and worship.
Chapel
Children are active participants in chapel each week, singing and praising God. They also enjoy learning more about Him and His Word from ELC staff or guest speakers. A different character quality (Patience, Kindness, Honesty, etc.) is taught monthly. Parents are always welcome to attend.
