Our Mission

Educational Philosophy

Northshore Christian Academy filters all learning through a Biblical world-view that recognizes Christ as Creator and Lord. We endeavor to train students spiritually, academically, and personally. Northshore integrates faith and learning as we educate and equip the whole child to impact a changing world for the glory of God.

Northshore Christian Academy’s mission places a high value on the school environment that produces ‘academic rigor with heart and help’. Since 1995, NCA has built the school culture and program around our mission statement with a focus of engaging and inspiring students towards their maximum potential.

MISSION STATEMENT

Northshore Christian Academy partners with families to provide a superior Christian education developing spiritual, academic, and personal excellence in a Christ-centered environment.

VISION STATEMENT

To transform our communities by graduating resilient disciples of Christ who are spiritually equipped and academically prepared to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Partner with Parents

The culture of teamwork and parent involvement creates a school climate where students can achieve their best. It begins with the enrollment process when families meet with the principal to discuss their child’s strengths, interests, and learning style. Principals convey our mission and highlights of that grade level. Continued family orientation and involvement opportunities are ongoing. Showcase events in every grade, weekly teacher communication and active classroom volunteering keep school-home connection active to maximize student learning.

Spiritual

Our faith based program teaches that each child is unique and created for a special, important purpose in life. We teach that each student has influence and impact to lead in faith, character and ethics. We develop their talents in academics, the arts, restorative relationships, emotional intelligence and leadership skill training. Daily bible class, weekly chapel, bible memorization, character quality study, service projects, counselor guidance lessons and holiday celebrations provide ways to develop these skills.

Academics

Our teachers provide a dynamic classroom environment that inspires our students toward academic excellence. Our school’s philosophy of “Rigor with heart and help” is reflected in student engagement through the differentiated and creative classroom lessons. Classroom tools expand learning through technology, small group instruction, mentoring, accelerated advancement and after-school enrichment classes. A student support system provides extra assessment and tutoring opportunities.

At a young age, our students are taught to embrace their own learning through a systematic program that includes goal setting, test score analysis and formal reflections on study/classroom habits.

The academic program is complimented by the wide variety of specialist classes. Degreed specialist teachers teach technology, engineering, music, band, orchestra, fine arts, physical education, and foreign language classes

Personal

A well-rounded education includes a school that is safe and secure with a healthy culture that teaches Biblical character qualities such as kindness, respect, friendship, servant leadership and conflict resolution skills. We frame these learning opportunities with the notion that each child is a uniquely created by God for an important purpose in life that can be best developed through a growth mindset.

Christ-centered Environment

Reflecting a “Christ-Centered school environment”, NCA forms small learning communities with four school “families” or divisions with a principal leadership team. The principal and teachers cultivate a loving, positive, structured yet challenging environment where students can thrive within their grade level
