SCHOOL COUNSELORS
As licensed school counselors, our mission is to support the spiritual and personal/social needs of every student from a Biblical worldview. Students today face many challenges, pressures, and expectations, and may encounter personal difficulties such as coping with anxiety, learning struggles, family troubles, or other concerns. To meet these needs, we often work behind the scenes helping students build friendships, problem‑solve, resolve conflict, cope with stress, and navigate transitions.
School counseling is intended to be short‑term, helping students identify concerns, understand causes, learn coping skills, and set goals for appropriate action. If at any point a student needs more extensive support than school counseling typically provides, we will refer the family to an outside counselor or therapist.
Our aim is to support students, parents, faculty, and staff as we work together to meet student needs. We help foster a positive school culture by encouraging students to build healthy relationships, develop bullying‑prevention awareness, and strengthen conflict‑resolution skills. We begin the year with our Kindness Kickoff, then continue supporting character development through the implementation of the Character Strong curriculum.
Reasons to contact your child’s school counselor include:
- Coping & problem‑solving concerns
