Every week Northshore Christian Academy students participate in one of four Chapel programs: Early Learning, K-2nd grade, 3-5th grade, and 6-8th grade. Chapel is an important part of our school and we desire to make it a special event that students look forward to each week.
What is the purpose of chapel? Chapel is an avenue to gather students for corporate worship and teaching. Chapel is like a church service geared for the student's developmental level. Songs and messages are age appropriate within an environment that is fun, respectful and worshipful. We encourage the upper elementary students and require the middle school students to take notes.
What is the normal chapel routine? All four chapels have a time of announcements, singing, and message. Generally, chapel opens with prayer and a character quality is highlighted. Announcements include student of the week/student of the month awards and upcoming events.
How do we select chapel speakers? It is our goal to have many different people associated with the school and church speak at chapel. It is important that our students hear about their passion for God, love for Jesus Christ and enthusiasm for the Bible from many different people! Each speaker has committed their life to serve God and are active in a local church.
What is the goal of our music? Music is designed to be worshipful, age-appropriate and fun! As students get older, they can participate in leading worship.
How you can help with chapel: Pray for the chapels every Wednesday. Pray for our speakers and music leaders. Parents are always welcome to attend.
