We are excited and proud to share some wonderful news! Our Early Learning Program in Everett, Washington, is officially an approved provider for the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) program!
At Northshore Christian Academy, we are excited to expand our ability to serve military-connected families in Everett and the surrounding communities
NCA is Making Quality Child Care More Accessible for Military Families
The Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) program, administered in partnership with Child Care Aware® of America and the Department of War (DoW), helps eligible military families access affordable, high-quality child care in their local communities.
For military families who face installation-based child care waitlists or live too far from a military child development center, finding dependable and affordable care can be challenging. MCCYN helps bridge that gap by providing financial assistance toward child care tuition at approved community-based providers.
Through this program, eligible families can receive assistance with their monthly child care expenses, making quality early education more accessible and affordable.
What Does This Mean for Our Families?
Becoming an approved MCCYN provider is more than just an exciting designation. It reflects our commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality early learning environment for every child in our care.
MCCYN approval requires providers to meet established standards for health, safety, and quality, including:
- State licensing requirements.
- Annual health and safety inspections.
- Thorough background check compliance.
- Recognized accreditation or quality rating standards.
For military-connected families, this approval offers additional peace of mind. It means our Early Learning Program has met the program's requirements and can participate in providing care supported through military child care fee assistance.
Eligible active-duty service members, activated reservists, and Department of War personnel may qualify for assistance that significantly reduces their out-of-pocket child care expenses.
How Does MCCYN Fee Assistance Work?
The MCCYN program helps offset the cost of community-based child care through monthly fee assistance.
The amount of assistance is determined by factors such as family income and applicable program rates. The military covers an eligible portion of the child care expense, while families are responsible for their designated parent fee and any costs that exceed applicable provider rate limits.
Families interested in learning more or applying can begin by:
- Creating an account through MilitaryChildCare.com.
- Completing the necessary fee assistance application and paperwork through Child Care Aware® of America.
- Following the program's approval and enrollment process.
We Are Proud to Support Those Who Serve
Military families make tremendous sacrifices in service to our country, and we are honored to be able to support them in this meaningful way.
In our Early Learning Program, we believe every child deserves a strong foundation for learning, growth, and discovery. Becoming an approved MCCYN provider allows us to extend that commitment to even more families in our community.
