Over eight years ago, a very special tradition began at Northshore Christian Academy with International Day, and since then, it has been one of the most anticipated events here at NCA. It is a day that truly reflects the beauty of God’s creation and the richness of His people. What started as a heartfelt initiative by a group of moms has grown into a vibrant tradition that brings together families from around the world to celebrate culture, heritage, and unity in Christ.
A Global Celebration in Our Halls
We have a diverse community, and currently, NCA proudly represents over 20 different countries, and International Day is the perfect opportunity for parents and students to share their unique heritages and backgrounds. Parents volunteer to create immersive cultural experiences, transforming our lobby into mini “countries” filled with authentic sights, sounds, and artifacts from around the globe.

Grab your passport, and let's go!
Students from Kindergarten through 8th grade embark on an exciting journey with their very own 'passport' pages that are given to them on the day of. Each country that a student visits earns them a stamp, and the goal is to fill their passport by exploring as many countries as possible! This hands-on experience makes learning fun and memorable while fostering curiosity and respect for different cultures.
Highlights of the Day
-
- Cultural Dress: Parents and students alike wear traditional attire, adding color and authenticity to the celebration.
- Country Displays: From flags and maps to stunning photographs, each station offers a glimpse into the beauty of the land.
- Interactive Activities: Students learn real cultural practices—like calligraphy, tortilla-making, and traditional games.
- Artifacts and Flowers: Tables overflow with cultural treasures, fresh flowers, and meaningful symbols from each heritage.

More Than Just a Celebration
International Day is more than an event—it’s a ministry of inclusion and love. Parents feel seen and valued as they share their stories, traditions, and faith. Students learn that while we come from different places, we are united as one family in Christ. This day reminds us of Revelation 7:9: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb."
We want to personally invite you to join us on February 6th as we celebrate International Day in our lobby right here at Northshore Christian Academy! We also invite you to sign up to help volunteer day of, which you can do below:
"Our lobby gets turned into the world. Everybody gets to learn about a lot of different cultures, the Academy staff, and our amazing PTF group always appreciates how the whole school and admin gets the opportunity to participate. It's just an amazing and special day and one of my favorite parts about International Day is that our families feel seen and feel more deeply integrated here at NCA!"
